Awkwardly entering from stage left

Filed under: Navel Gazing — Adam Gurri @ 5:21 pm

Hey there guys. I know, I’m surprised I’m still alive too.

Have recently redoubled my blogging activity, and Robert asked where the hell I’d been. So, uh, here I am. Expect something with a little more substance in the near future…

…but not too much more substance.

UPDATE: In lieu of real content, I give you the “blog” of “unnecessary” quotation marks.

  1. Stage left? We got enough commies around here already, boy. You better quote us some Hayek and quick.

  2. PS – Welcome back! Contingent on the suitable Hayek credential-proving, of course.

  3. “Fundamentally, in a system in which the knowledge of the relevant facts is dispersed among many people, prices can act to coördinate the separate actions of different people in the same way as subjective values help the individual to coördinate the parts of his plan.” -Hayek, the Use of Knowledge in Society

    …and thanks.

  4. That’s some good Hayek right there.

  5. Welcome back. Perhaps you can help us restart this blog, which has been creeping slowly along for a couple months due to attrition and neglect. Can’t say that Hayek is the cure for our ills, though.

  6. Hayek is the cure for many ills, Brutus.

And how did you expect to do anything but creep along when the mascot would appear to be a turtle?

  7. Point taken on the mascot. We discussed it a while back but nobody cared enough to change it.

As for Hayek, we discussed a variety of economic issues a while back, too, but I never wrote the blog post on market fundamentalism that I had intended. Are we going to wade back into those waters?

  8. I’ll wade if you’ll wade, captain
