Yay!

Ha! A good reason to watch the Eurovision finals. One sure sign of apocalypse would be Finland actually winning the contest. Lordi's music video here. For one, it stands out from the usual Europop fare.

Update: Meaning that Finland got in to finals.

Update 2: Hard Rock Hallelujah! It has been said that hell freezes over before Finland wins the Eurovision song contest. So, Satan… Do you need some warm blankets down there? Bwahahaha! First place, 292 points… crushing victory!

Thanks to all the good people in Europe (all grudges forgotten) who knew good music when they heard it, and voted (I couldn't, you can't vote your own). Truly this is a historical moment!

  1. Euro what’s this now?

Oh, pop culture. Europe still tries to have its own culture? That’s so cute.

  2. Bah. I don’t identify myself as an “European” anyway anymore, even if it is technically true (most EU maps have not bothered to include the majority of Finland, like where I live, so good riddance). That’s why I want the decidedly un-Europop Lordi to win.

For all I care, Brussels can rot in it’s own corruption and political correctness gone wild. Too bad it’s bringing down all the rest, too, and there’s nothing much to be done about that.

Sorry to get serious all the sudden, but the word “Europe” just doesn’t say anything positive to me these days.

  3. I hereby grant Finland permission to not be part of Europe.

Thanks but no thanks — I can't stand the current political atmosphere but I think Europe is pretty cool otherwise 🙂 .

[The update number 2 may explain this]
