But when it started, it was very, very derivative of Doonesbury, which makes it more difficult to make it onto a "top 100" list (and reasonably so, imo). As good as Bloom County is - and I like it a lot - I think the list was probably correct in not thinking it rose to the level of most of the other things included. Bloom County was terrific for a while and had beautiful drawing. But that's probably just because Berke Breathed was one of the foundations of my sense of humor. Or lack thereof, depending on who you ask.
